2015 - present
CARTOGRAPHIES is a collection of representations of geographies that span various media and methodologies. In particular, my interest has always been in breaking the conventional systems of geographical notations. I love breaking the grid, creating new units, experimenting with visual layers, and most of all trying to map qualitative things like feelings, nuances, moments, alternate realities and textures that are seemingly unmappable in the discourse around geopolitics that are constantly dominated by quantitative standards.
What do you need to do, see, touch, make, break, manipulate, and gather - to map the unmappable? Where do you need to be? Who do you need to be? What role do you play, or actively discard, in your pursuit of the unknown? For how long - a day or 15 minutes? With whom? How to make new friends to map old things? And vice versa? Where does the mapping begin, where there is no end?
